Navigating postpartum with gentle support

“Natalie joined us in the fourth trimester, right after our twins arrived. Life was chaotic and her support was invaluable. We called her the ‘baby whisperer’ for her calm demeanor and soothing skills. Our whole family connected with Natalie and we were grateful for her expertise and care.”

- Antoniette

After a baby is born the wild ride of parenthood begins! The first few months of life with a newborn can be magical, but it is also easy to feel overwhelmed and exhausted while navigating this new existence. Having help in the postpartum period takes away some of the burden new parents can feel while they are adjusting to life with a baby (or babies).

Postpartum Doula Support

Household, caregiving, and self-care tasks become infinitely more challenging to perform with a newborn. Natalie’s role as a postpartum doula is to assist with basic needs and support members of the family. Visits are tailored to the needs and wishes of individual clients. Tasks performed can include:

  • Taking care of the baby while one or both parents nap or work

  • Answering questions about newborn care

  • Breastfeeding/chestfeeding support

  • Laundry and light meal preparation

  • Preparing a sitz baths for healing

  • Teaching gentle stretches to help sore muscles after giving birth

Overnight Support

Doula support at night focuses on taking care of the baby while the parents sleep. During an overnight postpartum visit, Natalie stays up with the baby, change diapers, and soothes them. The parents are only awoken if the baby needs to breastfeed/chestfeed or is inconsolable.
